Metal Core PCB (MCPCB) is a special type of PCB that uses a metal substrate as the core support and composites conductive copper foil with the metal core through a high-thermal conductivity insulating dielectric layer. Its core advantage lies in excellent thermal conduction and heat dissipation capabilities. Compared with traditional FR-4 PCB (thermal conductivity only 0.3 W/(m·K)), MCPCB's thermal conductivity can reach 1.0-380 W/(m·K), which can quickly conduct heat generated by high-power devices to the metal substrate and dissipate it, effectively reducing the operating temperature of devices and improving reliability and service life. Its core structure consists of three parts: metal core layer (aluminum/copper/iron), insulating dielectric layer (high-thermal conductivity resin + ceramic filler), and conductive copper foil layer.
Core applications include LED street lights, industrial and mining lights, stage lights, LED-TV backlights, etc. Through the efficient heat dissipation of aluminum-based PCB, the operating temperature of LED chips is reduced from 120℃ to below 70℃, light decay rate is reduced by 50%, meeting energy-saving lighting needs.
Suitable for core components such as On-Board Charger (OBC), Battery Management System (BMS), Motor Control Unit (MCU), LED vehicle lights. Using aluminum-based/embedded copper block PCB, the operating temperature of IGBT module is reduced from 105℃ to 72℃, failure rate is reduced by 80%.
Applied to server power supplies, photovoltaic inverters, fast charging modules, frequency converters, etc.
Used in industrial frequency converters, high-power motor drivers, airborne power supplies, satellite payload systems, etc.
